A Moment with the Bishop: Are You Called to Serve as a Deacon?
Men in the Diocese of Madison who may be feeling a call to serve the Church in a deeper way are invited to attend one of two upcoming inquiry meetings about the permanent diaconate.
Permanent deacons serve in three ways: they preach and teach the Word of God; they assist at Mass, baptize, witness marriages, and lead funerals and prayer; and they care for those in need – the poor, the sick, the lonely, and those on the margins. Most are married men who live out this calling alongside their everyday work and family life.
Inquiry meetings will be held on Saturday, April 18, at St. Clement Church in Lancaster, and Saturday, April 25, at Holy Name Heights in Madison, both from 9 a.m. to noon. Wives are welcome to attend. Reservations are requested by April 10th. Learn more and register at https://madisondiocese.org/diaconate
